about

Krishna Bhatt and Anindo Chatterjee — Sitar and Tabla at their intoxicating best on a warm Spring night in Brooklyn!

Both musicians have excellent pedigrees and training — Krishna hails from a long line of Rajasthani Sanskrit scholars,
poets & musicians. He was introduced to sitar by his father, Pt. Shashi Mohan Bhatt, and subsequently became a
disciple of Pt. Ravi Shankar, though his music reflects strong influences of both Pt. Nikhil Banerjee and
Ust. Ali Akbar Khan, all following the illustrious Maihar Gharana. Krishna also has a deep love and knowledge of the
ragas and folk music of his native Rajasthan.

Anindo was a child prodigy — at five, he became All-India Radio's youngest artist and went on to disciple with such
tabla luminaries as Pt. Gyan Prakash Ghosh and Ust. Ahfaq Hussain Khan. He toured with the late Pt. Nikhil Banerjee
until his death, and has accompanied a "Who's Who" list of India's greatest musicians.

And both have achieved international acclaim and followings, winning numerous awards and accolades. They have
performed with each other for decades, giving a virtual 'sixth sense' of anticipation, utter joy and ease to their recitals.

They perform Raga Yaman, one of the Sangeet repertoire bedrocks, and Raga Sur Ranjani — "Fragrance of Notes" —
Krishna's creation, based on Ragas Bhatiyar and Ahir Bhairav, inspired by the ambiance of the audience and the
Spring night.
